Lentolaivue 32 AAR

SSO - April 18th

We took off from A7, our orders were to CAP the field with LLv34. Together we had 9 pilots (5 of us, 4 from LLv34).

After takeoff we split our forces into scouting pairs and started to search for the enemy. As expected, they came in from the north. After hearing that they are coming towards A7 we headed there.

Situation quickly became unfriendly, there were about 15 (or more..?) enemy planes (F6's and F4U's) and they were higher than us. Soon almost all Finns were down and so was A7. Only 1 of our brave pilots survived the attack.

Unfortunately short event for us...

Unfortunatelly i could not execute my initial plan. When i wend on-line 30mins before the event i was informed that IJN can use A7 base to take off...

I've chenged the plane "on-flight" and sent 2 squads of Corsairs armed with rockets to the target and one squad to cover them.
They reported a presence of Niki's behind them between the fleet and A7. I've ordered them to drag Niki's under the escort IF they decide to engage.
They all headed to A7 with Niki's trailing... Over A7 they cought some IJN planes below them and the escort. Fighters engaged them, while attack planes dropped the rockets and joined the furball. Allied forces managed to kill most of the enemy and i ordered them to rearm and CAP the TG. At this point 308Sqn TBM's were passing the field from the west side (thanks to Suave who assured me that we have enought fuel to do that). And after some time we got called IN because the A7 where cleared from the enemy. WE dropped our load, then strafed some. SirJames killed an ammo bunker and FH :)  WTG!
While TBM's were heading to A8 base to rearm there. Fighters killed the D3A's run on our fleet and scared the escort

At this point 308 landed and got coughty on the runway by Ki61's... we took off to fight and all died. We should exit the planes i think.

15mins later IJN had no planes up. 56Sqn landed and exited while Viff and Deej111 attack A7 again to kill the 2 hangars that survived. They did it and landed.

Thanks for participating and helping
I hope the pilotws enjoyed it.... and i hope Allied won

The WidowMakers escorted our flight of Ki67s unchallenged.  It wasn't untill we decided to head to A8 that the SSO got exciting for us.  Once our Ki61s reached A8 we spotted some low dots on the field.  Bingo! a flight of tasty TBMs rearming.  The three of us de-acked and let the TBMs take flight... my condolances to the 308.
