Respect for the other player's

All,

Not squeaking But..
Since Kill Shooter is on, I would hope the people would pay enough attention to what they are doing (call it SA if you will) But this happened to be twice Today on line, I was 200 ft on someone’s six (a spit in both cases) they are smoking and I am closing to finish the Kill and BOOM As I pull the trigger I shoot my self down as some one pulled between myself and the Spit (this same someone did this twice) no names mentioned but out of respect for the other player's Please pay attention
Thanks

Twice?  Yikes!  Don't know what that person was thinking, but slipping inside of 200m into someone else's fire is a real no-no, in my book.  I would have confronted them right on the spot.

This is how most people go..
As they see nice smoking target going down, they dive on it, even though there is enemy higher than the one which is smoke diving in death spiral.. of course, they shoot the one which is lower and surely not a threat.

Also one typical is that if theres field with no ack, they see one plane there and 5k above, they are 10k, theyll do one pass on 5k enemy and then go vulch the field.

As long as target is easier to hit than the flying ones, they go for easier shots.

Being an alt monkey, here's the usual scenario I experience:

1. Find high enemy

2. Shoot something vital off before he dives away - a that point he usually goes down smoking

3. wait for the kill in the text buffer

4. watch how some low countryman gets the kill, since he emptied his guns into death spiralling enemy smoking badly

5. be happy with assist

I thought that he who got the first critical hits on a con was credited with the kill, those who hit after got the assist, is it the last hits?

Actually It the one that does the most damage that gets the kill which comes back to my point, With Kill Shooter on and at 200 ft with 6 50 cal's it takes about a 1 second burst to kill a target, but when some one jumps in front of you a you pull the trigger your own aircraft takes the full blunt on the burst. Hence you kill you self and the bellybutton that jumped the kill gets full credit for the Kill.

Heater;

Your discussion is well taken.  However, there are just too many variables that are not controlable in a game of this type.

AH is a game about "Taking Your Lumps" and it sounds like you took a couple of bad ones today.

I might add that IMO your non-respectful way of demanding respect is rather contrary.

Personally, I did not even know "Kill Shooter" was on.  I have had no instances of the classic "Regreting to Inform You That Your Son has Shot Himself Down", but then again I do like fancy uniforms.

Good Luck to you the future.

Heater and others:

Im sure the scenario you described is frustrating but so is being 200 ft behind a target, missing the shot and then losing the advantage only to have the spit gain angles in the Lufberry fite and shoot me down.

This is a team game here and not all of us can saddle up and get the kill 100% of the time.  I am one of those    If I see someone tangling with a spit and they are in trouble Im gonna dive in to help and would expect the same from my countrymen if I were in the same situation.

Yeah its frustrating when you get shot down becuase someone ran into your bulletstream, but really now...how often is it going to happen?  Hasnt happened to me once yet and tho its happened to you twice, it will probably be a couple of months before anything like that happens again!

So in summary, feel free to swoop in on my kills whenever you want.  I will probably be in trouble shortly

BRAVO !!

Kill shooter sucks. It has nothing to do with getting punished for "freindly fire".
Poop Happens, Some times it your fault, some times it's not. So far in the last 3 years or so it only happened once.

If I thought Air Warrior did anything right. I'd say booting you out of your country for friendly fire, or my fav is taking away 1/2 your bullets. This type of thing would have my vote. (yeah yeah if I had a vote)

I have found a good use for "Kill Shooter."

In the other WWII Online Aircraft sim, where sometimes you shoot things down, but your bullets/shells pass harmlessly through your target.  Kill shooter is a great way to test packet loss.  I sometime shoot at a freindly just to check my connection.  If I shoot myself down with a quick burst it tells me my gunnery is good, and I must not be dropping to many packets.

Other than that I have no use for Kill Shooter.

I hope that HTC gives us an Arena in AH where we can choose to fly with Freindly Collisions Enabled and Kill Shooter turned off.

We could Spawn/Taxi from hangars and Roll to the Runway.  The only place I would disable collisions is in the Spawning Area.

With Kill Shooter off, the Schmoes that like to dive in front of me when I am hosing away at some nice big Corsair or B-17 and eat a few .50cal or 20MM intended for my actual target will soon learn not to dive in front of Freindlies.

I can forsee an arena where everyone starts out thinking "This Friendly Fire/Collision is Really Cool".  In the end the arena would turn into an "Aquarium of Discontent"

Player 1 "YOU SHOT ME DOWN ON PURPOSE"
Player 2 "No, I did not.  Sorry  "
Player 1 "DID SO, YOU TRAITOR TREASON DOG"
Player 2 "DID NOT"
Player 1 "DID SO"
Player 2 "UP YOURS GUMBY"
Player 1 "YOU LOW LIFE PANTY STAIN"
Player 2 "YOU BUTT SNORT"
Player 1 "F*** IT, I'M OUTTA HERE"
Player 2 "hehe"

Would be kind of funny I suppose.

Actually, it's more like this:

"Hey, stop shooting friendlies!"
"hehe"
"XXXX is a traitor"
"Yeah, he shot me down too.  "
"lol, you guys can't get me!"

Excerpted from various sims (the most notorious being from FC, a gentlemen who bragged on open about being the best fragger in the business).

Killshooter is a must.

Actually dolomite, killshooter is not nescessary in all flight simms. In brand WB's Historic Arena, killshooter is disabled. You can whack friendlys. But there has never been a problem, as far as I know, with people "fragging" there own countrymen. As a matter of fact people in WB's HA are too busy helping each other out, giving vectors, (no in-plane radar). Rarely ever any BS on the open channel, just occasional friendly jest.

Don't get me wrong, I like the direction in which the game Aces High is going. But the attitude of some of the pilots is total BS.

I was flying the other night and noticed 3 guys on the open channel arguing which one of them whined the most (yep, seems this arguement is going on every time I fly in AH), they also took on the subject of which one had the most uber plane; blah, blah, blah, on and on, one of them told me to use the squelch command if I was tired of it.

I have 3 kids, 2 of them boys that are 6 and 4 years old. I am not kidding when I say some of these guys on Aces High argue like my 2 boys, the same circular arguement, on and on. I don't know whether to laugh at them or scold them

Downtown. We have rubber bullits in AH from time to time also. But you have a good idea there. if they made friendly ack or better yet the tower work like the killshooter on  planes. We could do a connection test in a more controlled way.
