My guess is that the BBS is the real graphics engine for AH.  You want proof?  Why would both server and BBS be down at the same time if they are in different states?  coincidence? I think not.

HTC is obviously trying to cut costs while he cobbles together AH2.

What lag?

I was logged in until around 11pm EDT yesterday, and my 37 ping hardly felt laggy...  Think there was 400+ other ppl torturing themselves on pizza at the time too...

It's 9:30pm central and lag is so severe  that fleet guns can't kill town buildings, 5" guns get bright flashes yet don't do damage on aircraft, and planes are doing full circle warps.

I hear it's a new DoS worm that's going around.

Warps are horrible tonight.... gave up after one flight... pizza map sux even more in warp mode.

It is 4/21/2004 @1:47   CST.

All last night there were problems with warping and terrible lag. At times we might begin to think there was a cheat except that the world channel was full of complaints from all sides experiencing the same thing.  This is not a problem that cropped up on the 20th of this month either. Lag problems have been going on for at least a week maybe 2.

I saw a bomber formation jump 3k at one time then reappear behind me, then reappear back out in front of me.  Im thinking he was as confused as I was since he did not fire when he was on my 6 for about 2 seconds.  

This has been a problem for all sides.

I saw an interesting one last night. I was going at it with fireMAW who was flying a F4F. His CV was nearby. Suddenly, Boom. I thought I'd been hit by a ship gunner. The F4F was that moment at a distance of 2.4 on my FE. Only when FireMAW landed his kills did I realise that he was the F4F, not a ship gunner. Up until that moment, I was undamaged. I wasn't aware of his having landed any hits on me. Was this lag, or maybe a prox kill? I thought gunners got their own credits for kills. I thought I was at a safe distance from the CV to avoid the automatic ack.

What we are seeing is our FE's are way behind the server.  

When it catches up we find we have flown into a mountain or somebody killed us.  Bomber formations zoom past.

I was over a base last night sort of defending from one con that was coming in to pork out strat.  I was on his 6 around 2k out while he was extending. The next thing I know I am getting pinged from out of no where and he's behind me now heading back towards the feild.

I know this is just one of those things that cannot be helped. The net is a screwy beast that is very fickle about certain things. I've heard that there are new worms and viruses that are causing this to happen.

Not once did I expect any of the warps to be due to cheating :rolleyes: The net is just too big of a beast to be perfect all of the time so for now I guess we'll have to live with it.

Yes, very laggy playing Tuesday night.

Aside from the game, the Knights also lagged in resetting the Bish.

A lot of people backed off Bish and starting hitting Rookies, cause they didn't want to see Pizza go away. :rolleyes:

Ah well, each to his own in this grand game of ours!
