I'd like to know if we will still be using the old style mission planner? To be more specific using the MAP room for placing waypoints. It is actually very difficult to determine good waypoint placement with how the current setup is. Could we not use a map similiart to the main one on the clipboard to place way points? It's hard enough now to calculate how much distance you need to get bombers up to altitude and at the same time have fighters vector to them within a span of a few minutes. With the MAP room map because of how it's angled off placing waypoints is rather difficult.
Also I'd like to know if it's possible to have seperate aircraft launching at different times from different bases when there is only one mission planner. Just as an example I'd have 2 sets of sweep fighters each launching from 2 seperate bases. They'd converge at an area in front of the main strike package. Depending on the distance the bombers would launch lets say 5 minutes behind them with their attached escorts. And then 5 minutes behind that I'd have another set of detached escorts flying the high six and high left and right of the strike package. Then finally have a set of 2 fighter backups launching at approximately less than 5 minutes prior to the main package hitting the target. They'd be there for the return to home flight of the whats left of the main package. Meanwhile whatever forward sweep fighters and attached escorts are still available they'd fly back with the main package possibly low on fuel and ammo.
I don't think I'd have the ability to do this kinda of scenario just as one mission planner. I may be missing something and if I'am please help. Thanks for listening.
