Maniac: Multiple arenas function just fine now.

They just do not function as you desire them to.

So I'm still trying to figure out what your arena goal is.

Is it
1. To have more people in the CT.
2. To have more smaller arenas?
3. To have a furball arena?
4. None of the above, so please specify.

Give me a hint, because as far as I can see your trying to fix a problem where none exist.

Finding a way to get more people into the CT would be nice. I think it's a catch 22 right now. It's a lot of fun there, but players don't go there because of the low numbers, and the numbers won't grow until players go there. I can't see any other reason for the standoff.

The current arena is too crowded... it was perfect for around 250 people, but more then that and it gets too crowded...

Would be nice to spread the customer base between arenas. Atleast now when its a possibility with up to 500 players in the MA...

I can understand not wanting to split up the players when we were 200 or less on every night ....

As i said before, It seems that HTC wants everyone to focus on the current main arena... The name "Main Arena" could easily be named "The place to be". it fills the same agenda as "Main Arena"

I would like it to be named something along the lines with what you actually do in the Arena... like "3 countrys vs 3" or something similar, im not that bright but you catch my drift... :)

Or as i said earlier, have the name "main arena" substituted with the name of the current map thats in it...

Alot of different solutions too this...

Maniac if the goal is to just split up arena numbers. Naming isn't an issure.

Call them
Main arena 1
Main arena 2,
Main arena 3

All 3 with duplicate setups. This still causes many issues of flying with squads. And milk running empty arenas.

If I ever do split up mains, it would be forced what arena you fly in, i.e. by squads , then by some other meens for none squad members, would be mixed up on some time bases "once a day, or once a week", so you are not always flying against the same people, and would be entered into by just selecting the main arena, and you would be drop into the "Sub arena".

The one down side to this method is during realy low times, havn't come up with a solution im totaly happy with yet on this. But the force might be off once numbers drop blow some level.

There is no reason to break up the MA if the maps are balanced and dont restrict flying styles like some of the current maps do.

HT,

If I may ... I don't like this idea.

Take these scenarios ...

If the 13th is relegated for the week/day/whatever to fly in MA 2 and there is no other 13th members on, I like to wing up with other friends that I have established.

So if I am relegated to MA 2 and Delirium and the "Nomads" are relegated to MA 1, then I am SOL.

What happens when, and I have been doing this more and more, there are no other 13th on, no other Nomads on, and I want to switch from Knights to Rooks to go fly with Morpheus and XtremJ.

What selection criteria would be used to determine what MA I get relegated to ... I would get a 1 in 3 chance of getting into the same MA as those guys and couldn't switch back to Knights for 12 hours if I didn't get put into the right MA.

Like Morpheus said ... If it ain't broke ... don't fix it.

SlapShot:I  Was not proposing to make the change. Was just stating that if I were to split arenas, along what lines I would do it.

No mater what , if arenas were split your going to have the same problem you described.

IF there were split arenas.

It would be nice to be able to do a FIND on a player ID or Squad ID and see what arenas they are in so I know where I might want to fly before I select an arena.

Actually it would be nice if we had that feature now - so I can see where my friends and or squad mates are flying - be it hte Main or CT or SE . . . Instead of hopping into each arena and waiting for the roster to queue up and scroll and see who is in.

HT, I understand you were doing a little brainstormin' ... just wasn't sure if those scenarios had been considered.

Even if the arenas were split, at least I would still have the "choice" as to where I could fly and with whom I could fly with. I understand the time delay on side switching and have no problem with that.
