« on: April 23, 2004, 01:45:54 AM »
I have ...
Abit NF7-S
1gb ddr-333 memory
Athlon XP2600+
120gb sata HD
Radeon 9700 256mb
19" CTX ultra screen

I set ...
anti-aliasing to 4X
anisotropic filtering to 8X
TRUEFORM to application preference

In game ...

I set everything to "ON" and maxed out all settings.
running game at 1024 X 768

IT'S SMOOTH AS SILK!!!!
 FR in tower = 59~60
 FR in flight  =  75~100
I simply cannot get over how good EVERYTHING looks!!!
Plane textures, terrain, water, buildings, runways..all of it!!
Surely there are still some bugs, but overall you have all done a fantastic job and I feel you need to be commended!!!
KUDOS GENTELMEN!!!!!!

JimC,

A couple of questions:

1. What kind of frame rate to you get in a dogfight ? when you JABO a base ?
2. What are the 3 slider settings you are using for level of detail, etc...?
3. What "hertz" (refresh rate, scan rate) are you using your monitor at ?

I am using 1,024 x 768 x 85Hertz. My understanding is that the frame rate reported in AH cannot actually exceed the refresh rate (hertz?) of the monitor. So the max I should see is 85FPS...I assume. I am getting @ 69fps in tower and 59fps in dogfights (well...after the skins have loaded to my desktop) and something around 35fps when I first dive into a base to do JABO. Lots of stuttering when first encountering aircraft and when buildings first resolve into detail at bases. All of my graphics sliders in AH2 are set to middle position. If I go for max detail on all 3, I drop to about 12fps.

Just curious...

Some newer monitors can hit 100 refresh even at higher res, but any1 can turn off v-sync just to see what your card can do.

1. In a dogfight - 75~100
JABO drops to not lower than 40 for a few seconds.

2. Level of detail and desplay object size are both set to MORE DETAIL all the way to left.

Ground detail range is set to 3 miles.

Max texture size is 512

gamma is 1.5

3. Monitor refresh is 100.

P.S. I run win 2k
