HiTech: prop blur?
« on: April 24, 2004, 02:08:39 AM »
Is there a particular reason you like a nearly invisible prop blur on the aircraft? In Beta 24 the 109E4 had an all-white prop blur and was great for increasing immersion factor. I flew around in just that aircraft for a few hours offline enjoying how much more real it seemed. Then again, I've disliked the current prop blur for years simply because it didn't look real. Any chance you could at least see what people thought of a black prop blur for one or two Beta versions?

Im with cit on this one, you realy cant see a prop when in motion. Thats why it is done as it is.

I like that Dawvgrid!!:aok

I agree with Hitech and Cit. When I fly I never notice the prop. Sometimes at certain angles to the sun it stands out a little, but not much.

yeah, you really dont notice the blur too much unless you're really looking for it. its so subtle that i doubt you could reproduce it on a computer screen without overdoing it

A black prop is almost invisible. The only really visible props are those with colored blades, usually only the tip, and usually yellow. This is done to increase the safety for ground personnel that work around the plane when the engine is running. I believe some Spits had yellow prop blade tips during WWII? I vaguely remember having seen such a Spit.
