Anti-Glare Filter for Laptops?

The snow's finally gone from the yard, and the temps are up in the 50's and 60's, so it's time to get out of the house. Fortunately, I can work from home sometimes. And thanks to wi-fi, I can work outside on my laptop, enjoying the fresh air.

Can anyone recommend a good anti-glare filter that I can use on my laptop to help me see the screen easier in sunny conditions?

or if its cool enough just throw a blanket over your head and the laptop, should keep the neighbors away too :)

Thanks Diablo, although I've looked at that filter before, but it seems to be more for the security inclined. I wonder how well it works to cut down on glare?

Wow, SOB, that's a great price. I may have to order one even if it doesn't fit perfectly.

Eagler- :) Already thought of that, but the mosquitoes will bite through the blanket anyway, so I'm going to go for some kind of filter.

Slimm- LOL! :D

Vorticon- Nope, already tried that. The solution has to be to eliminate the glare on the surface of the LCD panel.

Still hoping to hear from someone who uses one of these products for outdoor use. Anyone?

I have the exact same problem banana, and i dont think there is a solution other than to buy a laptop that has another type of screen made for outdoor use. The techonlogy behind the LCD's are the problem im afraid.

"transflective" screen is what you are looking for. Some companies can refit your existing laptop with a transflective screen, but i bet it will cost you a bundle. Do a google for "transflective" adn "retrofit" and i think you will find some banana

Those Toughbooks are great, I saw one in real life just befor christmas and they are awesome.

To bad im not rich.

I use my "old" 17" crt when im in the garden and that works but its not as practical as a regular laptop with a transreflective screen. Beats sitting indoors tho :)
