I thought of this while watching  The Color of War on The History Channel.

RAF Night Raids.

Of course this setup would probably get old very quick, but it could also be fun to bomb and hunt in the darkness.

NO GV's

Unlimited radar , permanent darkness. You have to use radar to get within icon visual of of your enemy.

Just a rough idea, and yes I know it wouldnt do much for the furball cravings we all have. Just an I dea though.

Be nice if the Arena "rolled".  Say an hour or two of darkness with only the planeset listed above available split up by an hour or two of "Daylight" with the "dayfighters" planeset.....

Ohh well,  I for one can't wait for AH Tour of Duty.

I like it!! It doesnt have to be for all week. Just make it for a tuesday or thursday night speacial!

This is kind of an example of what I think needs to happen in the CT.

Here is another one. How many bases can you close? Disable troops and supplies, up hardness and make downtimes four to six hours during peek squad nights. CMs can tweek as needed. But this would eliminate some furballs.

Flew in a snapshot event set-up like this and it was alot of fun.

We flew ME-110G & FW-190 night fighters and the British had Lancaster bombers and Mosquito Intruders.

You had to really look and follow the radar. Best trick was to get the target "up moon" from you then you could see the bombers when they flew through the moon light.

The "Furball" crowd will hate it but it was alot of fun for a mini-event.

Here is the main reason I dont fly speacial arena events and mini events......too time schedual consumming.

We can do the same things in the CT from time to time with an unlimited death and time restrictions. The only time restriction would be when ever the CMs can be there to control it. Say from 9pm eastern till midnight pacific time! Obviously we need dedicated squads and I think we can have that, speacialy when a squadron CO is the CM

Too bad we cant we'd just have to use AH DAR. Folks are right though, this would suck eggs after a few days, but for a short time it would probably be fun.

If you have never done a SEA event with night fighters you have missed out. Its a hoot. The setup probably lends itself better to a Snapshot or Squad Op however, im not sure what kind of patience (which it requires), a lot of reg CT flyers would have for it.

I second that... flew it once in Squad Ops... if I can remember it was an air start at night... funny to see those planes dropping to the earth with just the moon as your cockpit light...

Sounds like a cool idea.  Would also be cool if someone could come up with spotlights to use at the targets to go along with the ack guns.
