Bug ... why are you searching for some reason or justification for the trash and profanity that is spewed all over Ch 1.

THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR IT !!! simple as that.

but if you could have heard the swear words going through my head

I've been there bro!

Everyone see what Havoc wrote here???

Hey check it out... The stuff was going through his head. But yet it was not coming from his mouth or through his fingers and on to Channel 1. WOW...

Im not trying to patronize here Havoc. So please dont take it that way.

Amazing tho isnt it guys?! Did you see how the process worked and was carried out?

Allow me to list the individual processes.

Step 1. Havoc gets in what to him is a very valuable perked 262.

Step 2. He flys around as careful as can be for a while just checking things out and feeling his way through the sortie as any good pilot should do

Step 3. Pays mind to whats around him and is careful, yes carful not to get in a predicament that will get him shot down.

Step 4. Although he is careful mistakes happen and he ends up being shot down!

Step 5. (the real kicker here) He understands that mistakes happen, a game is just a game and nothing to get vulgar and rude over.

That wasnt so difficult gang now was it?

Please excuse me if you think I am being a bit... hmmm i dont know umm a bit of a smarty pants...

But most of you are adults for gods sake. So act like it!

They are probably spoiled already in wrong chosen words.

This game wouldn't make any significant difference.
Just watch some movies, video clips or look at the news.

U can say u don't want bad language i respect that.
But giving kids for the reason is just uterly crap.

I have a few suggestions that may make your experience a little better for the kiddos.

1 - Squelch channel 1.  This is where most of the worst language occurs.

2 - Squelch known offenders on VOX.  You probably want to put me at the top of that list.

3 - Turn down the VOX volume when they play.  Under Setup -> Voice, turn the PLAY slider all the way down.  You can turn it back up when you play.

4 - Set your firewall to block UDP ports 2000-5000.  You can still play over TCP but you won't receive any VOX.

As this is an online game, there is no predictability about the subject matter or language.  It's like letting your kids watch HBO and expecting not to see nudity or violence.  It's just an unreasonable expectation that adults police themselves in an online environment.

All good points.  Here is one you can use.  Before you tell me what I need to do, try staing off the game until you can control your self.  After all, you would not use that language in front of my kids if we were both present in the same room, would you?

I had to leave my squad because it was imposible to play the game when the kids were any where near the computer.  I don;t want to quit the game though so now everything gets recorded.

PS. by you I don;t mean you specificaly, but the people that can't control treir language.

There is no reason children should not be able to sit with thier parents and watch this game be played.  If you feel it is inappropriate, then I would say to you, you are inappropriate.  You cannot surmise a situation where using profanity or other abusive language is either appropriate or positive.

End of story...

i started playing WarBirds when i was 12 years old. that was 5 years ago.

i must say that there is a steep climb in using bad language in the recent months.

my advice, ask the guy to calm down, if that doesnt work, theres allweys a squelch option.

No it's not. It's perfectly reasonable to expect people to remain civil and to police their mouths while playing a game with friends.

It's also what you agreed to when you signed your "Terms of Service" agreement with HTC.

Well said Skuzzy, unfortunantly I do not feel comfortable anymore letting my 7 or 10 year old daughters sit with me and watch me play. Because I know they are reading the buffer. Even though this game is for me, my girls like to watch daddy play sometimes. It is sad realy that some people have no respect for others.

You are missing the real problem here. Curse words (at least FCA approved ones) are not uncomman on TV and such and may not be a big deal sometimes. It is the vulgar talk and crude disgusting comments that are unacceptable!!
"screw your kids" is definantly unacceptable and shamefull. I dont care if my kids hear or read "dam or hell" but dont want them subjected to stuff like "blo me, F- you or dikhead" get it?????
Even mispelled worse stuff than that is on the buffer daily!!!FBRaptor

I'm glad to see Skuzzy's position on this and I hope there may be some form of relief being considered to keep this from being thrown at us constantly. Havoc's tirade was not an exception, it is becoming commonplace and relentless lately.

The foul language and political rants (right, left and center) by foam-dripping, rabid whackos being hurled at us daily are the only things that detract from this game.

I suppose there are only 3 solutions:

1. Don't do anything
2. Muzzle those who are unable to act like reasonable, civilized human beings
3. Eliminate their tools (Channel 1)

I do think the O'Club on this private BB is a catalyst. I believe it is an unnecessary part of this board and may contribute to the political rants and bad-natured name calling. I just can't see what Iraq and the U.S. election have to do with Aces High.
