Fire the Admiral!!!

Next patch really needs to implement some sort of assignment method for fleet command other than first-come, first-serve.

My suggestion is a polling system.  Have a box in the Ship menu, next to the "take command" box, called "approve commander", with have a check for "yes" and an X for "no". As long as more people have voted yes than no, the admiral keeps his job.  If the X's exceed the checks, he is booted and the next guy takes over.  And implement a waiting list.

Yeah, I know, we all pay the same bucks, we should all have equal chance to drive the ships.  But the fleet commander has a lot of power over the other players on his team, so he should be accountable to them.

I think as we go the points system is used for the control of ships.  The highest in points will be able to control the navy.  If they leave then the next highest in points will get the control.  It is just one of those things that have to be worked out fully yet I believe

What scares me is the fact that just because someone has alot of points doesent mean their not a total amazinhunk or a total ignoramus when it comes to fleet controller, we dont need an amazinhunk dictator admiral who wont do anything with the fleet that doesent fit his whims..

I am not for democracy on this subject. What I would implement, instead of a polling system, Is a separate point roster for fleet operations, based on goals achieved by the fleet as a whole. Have not think a lot on this yet, but commanding the fleet has nothing to do wiht flying abilities, and more with cooperation and tactical thinking. So, IMHO, flying (or even PTing) should have restricted impact in commanding the fleet. Dunno how, but only navy planes flew from CV's, manning guns and torpedoing should score points in this area.

And, while this develops, I would ask again for a flag, and a revised killshooter model for the fleet.

Cheers,

Pepe
