My apologies...  only 5 years of the just less than 10 years of the Republic's independance was led by Houston, but that doesn't mean he was born in Texas.

I don't think you should count before the victory at San Jacinto, and even if you do, Burnet was born in New Jersey.

Just as an aside, Lamar was born in Georgia, and Anson Jones was born in Massachusetts.

California is in the best position to go it alone.

Don't be fooled, their agriculture and hitech economy is pretty good. They are the movie capital of the world, and they are well educated. They would own major ports connecting to the east. California has alot going for it.

Dunt take offense Sixp.  I was asking more of a question than anything else.  Texas is self-sufficient in power, which is a basic requirement for most countries.

No offense here, i'm on right coast, just an observation. If they budget correctly, they could do the same. I envy them more than anything, not their political climate, but everything else.

They have been for years anyway. I say...Let it FLOAT OFF THE Continent and GO AWAY. That would relieve the Butt of the nation...

Then Florida fall off and that would relieve the Pee Pee of the nation....

Texas could be it's own Country..(Which those of us that were lucky enuff to be born in "GODS COUNTRY"  feel it is anyway).

Separate from Canada and ALL would be right. Loose ohhhh...lets see...R.I. & Mass. and ohhh what a wonderful world it would be.   :lol :lol :rofl :rofl :lol :lol :rofl :rofl

If I'm not mistaken, I think Mexico has already taken control of New Mexico.  It's going to be a fight for Texans to take it back.  If I'm not too old, on that day, I'll come and help.

 In any event, 'Good Luck'.
