Well, Instead of getting on an airplane at 8:40 this morning for S. Florida, I spent some time in the hospital getting the paperwork ready for my wifes surgery.  It was scheduled for 2 weeks from now, but hey had an opening on Monday, so we chose to take it.

Ah well, I doubt the boys will catch ALL the fish.

I went fishing SW of San Diego summer before last and had a great time. Our boat caught 175 tuna and one Dorado. Bluefin, Yellowtail and Albacore. I've also been fishing in Mexico several times and Cabo is the best. Last time I was down there I caught a 20 lb. Dorado, a 40 lb. Yellowfin, a 50 lb. Yellowfin and lost a 40 lb. Dorado right at the boat. Took the filets up to the "Rusty Pelican" in San Jose del Cabo and our softball team had a feast. We had two huge platters of shashimi tuna(yum, yum). The first time I ever fished in Cabo I caught a Striped Marlin. It took two hours to get it in the boat.[/IMG]

The little fish is a Sierra and makes great ceviche.

looks like a mackarel to me.  in spanish kingfish is serrucho which means saw sierra could be a mountain chain or a circular saw.

There are Spanish Mackerel, and Cerro Makerel, two distinct types.  Spanish are so oily they are barely fit to eat, Cerro are just about right.

any1 here experienced down there?

Once you are miles from shore, be sure to cast as hard as you can so that your bait is really, really far from the boat.

The other fishermen will envy your fishing prowess.

Ya I hate spanish mackerel, but we use it for bait.  never tried cerro.  usually the only mackerel family I'll eat is King.
