Does it have ground control centers like the real world, coast watchers etc. I know that nothing like our radar existed but there would have to be something to replace it if you really wanted Realism.

I'd say we should skip the HA arena, and instead setup an S3 Events-like arena that Warbirds has now. It's just like the HA, only much more organized and more popular. The S3 events are getting over 300+ people per event now.

Im all for an HA arena, and would spend most of my flying time there if it existed. And if there were people..
As many of you know the WB HA is and allways has been e-m-p-t-y Euro friendly hours execpt weekends.
The crowd interested in a 7\24 HA is limited to a certain percentage, and I dont see that percentage higher in AH than WB.And total number is of course (still) somewhat smaller.

But I still think is is a good idea.It will give the HA an oppertunity to grow with the game, and it will attack WB on one of its strongest assets (and in a not so distant future more or less the only asset): the outside-MA-activities.SL's, HA, you name it.

The original HA in WB was far better than the current flavor.  Enemy 'tags' didn't appear until D3 (3k).  Friendly tags at D8k.

Another thing:  In the HA, I could usually (read 90% of the time) tell plane type and direction it was going, long befor I saw the 'tag'.  *COUGH* you say?

Remember the subtle coloration difference in AC?  Spits blue w/yellow... 109 yellow w/light blue... 190 yellow w/white...?  And that was without radar, my friends.

can't do that here, yet.  Aspect changes at D6 are hard to tell and as for detail colors...

I would love an S3 type evenmt too--- but that would be no substitute for a FA arena. I would love to hop in a 109 or a 190 and hunt p51's and p47's and sych whenever I have the time to fly.  Or howabout jump in my George or Zeke to hunt some Corsairs or wildcats

The common theme here is the desire for something historical, be it a
Historical Arena or Special Events. Like most of you I will be
looking forward to those kinds of events and will do what I can to make
it happen.

As ghosth said the 332nd will be setting up one most Sundays at 3 PM
Eastern time. I will always post something about it prior to our squad
time. We will usually have 15, but could have up to 25 pilots and will always be looking for some healthy opposition.
