This presents questions...

If an enlisted soldier decides against going to a war he believes is unjust...Should he be imprisoned(or worse)..?

If you were a soldier going into battle..Would you want "covering fire" from someone who confessed to you after a few beers he thought this war was a "big lie" for oil?

Yeah..Some sign up for free college tuition..etc

If they want out before battle..for God's sake let them before they cost lives..Screw their records for leaving the miltary(or will it show on their record they have a brain?)

BTW...Don't blame Canada for your problems you POC..(or is that POS?)

If they did not want to be in the millitary they should not have signed up. Right or wrong they signed up for a job. It is another matter if it was a draft, and citizens were refusing to go fight.

He has no right to decide which wars he fights in, when he enlsisted he made a choice to serve his country and to do what he is told to do, like a man.

I have zero tolerence for these cowards.

I would not call him a coward. If anything it takes more guts to do what he did then to go do what is easy and follow orders. I still do not believe he did the right thing, as i stated above, but if anything he is not a coward.

It takes zero guts to flee to Canada..... they are complete cowards and hypocrites.

How does fleeing to Canada take guts? Maybe they are "brave" in facing a warm embrace in Canada.

People like them make me sick...

It takes far more guts to do what he did then to just shut up and follow orders. To actually stand up for what you believe in and basicly throw your life away like that takes some balls.

To stand up for what he believes in? He joined the military and made a choice to serve...... at his option apparently. He is a coward, period.

What if every person in the military could decide when and where to fight? We would be in trouble if the whole military was made up of cowards like these guys.....

What does he believe in anyway?

I am not saying what he did was right. If he believed the war was wrong he should have did his duty then when he is out protest it. Once you sign up to do a job you need to do it, but i would not label him a coward. They guy gave up alot going to canada. Pretty much the end of his life as he knew it.

Living in Canada isn't like going to prison or anything. He will probably live a nice, safe life there, protected by his former American friends  who serve and die to keep his former country  secure.

I say execute him if he is returned.....that would be a lesson for anyone who thinks about deserting.

you are not grasping the concept.

The concept is: A coward joined the military for his own gain, then ran away to Canada when he was required to perform his job.....that is the concept.

How is he a coward. What he did required more guts then following orders. Sticking labels on people i know little to or nothing about is something i try to avoid.
