Stuff I wish for in AH

4.  10 minutes of true night every time the sun sets in the AH arena ... so tanks and bombers could sneak towards their targets.

3.  The ability to slew the turret from the tank commander's position.  After all, in real WWII machines the TC could tell the gunner to slew the gun by verbal command, while he kept his head out of the hatch for better vis.  

2.  Enemy icons that don't tell what kind of plane it is at 5km ... it should just say "fighter" or "bomber", and make you ID it.  In a game that prides itself on realism, this is a woeful departure from that standard.  

1.  And the number #1 thing I wish for in AH is ... once I squelch someone, I wish they would stay squelched after I log off, so I don't have to re-gag em every time I play.  

(But at least I get to keep forgetting the dot before the squelch command, so I'm always "accidentally" sending a text message to "squelch MrArgue" over the game net

FYI Ed, they used to have 20 or 30 mintues of night before the latest build, but too many didn't like it, so we don't have it now

Actually you can tell whether its a buff or fighter well before it enters icon range.  The size of the dots are considerably bigger for buffs than for fighters and this shows up once you are about 7K away.  I think this is around the range that AH actually draws the object rather than just a little black dot.

Dont really have a beef with this issue

Here Here! think we've been after this for awhile, though I don't mind if its not high on the priority list.

Disagree, ok to a point anyways.  Once the con is within 3k or some range where ID is possible, the ID should stay with the AC as long as it is in con range.  In the real world where we have much better long range vision ID is easier.  I don't mind plane type icons, and am happy they don't state what variant of AC.  I can tell a bomber at approximately 8k now, just not which bomber.(1024 rez)

as far as I know icons count distance in feet?!

I would like to see:
1. Smoking remains of airplanes after they crash, vehicles that have been destroyed, and planes falling from the sky after a person bails.  That would be cool.  Imagine what the terrain would look like after a good furball with all of those smoking hulks lying around.

2. Finer resolution on the trim keys so you could actually trim a plane to level flight manually without resorting to that auto-trim trick.

More gradual Zoom controls.  When zooming in while in a panzer I find it very difficult to adjust finely.
Possibly add a fine tune Zoom option, using the shift key in conjunction with the [ ] keys.

I'd give my left nut to be able to set instant as default view mode without it reverting back to snap.

Maybe not the most pressing need for this game, but I wouldnt mind seeing bail-outs made a little more realistic. I have no personal experience in bailing out, but I suspect it would be difficult to bail in some of the ways I have. What might work is if there were some sort of movement in the cockpit indicating that you were going to bail. As it is now, we hit enter 3 times and *poof*, floating in the air. This system might be confusing if you were in a situation that you could not bail, as you might think that your 'enter' key was busted or somthing. If there was some sort of movement indicating a desired bail, but no canopy release, then you would know somthing was wrong with the plane -positioning or damage-. Just some ideas to add realism. Whadaya think?

Gotta say I agree with you Torque, thats an issue thats bugged me since my first time in beta loooong ago.

Also when buffing when ever you switch from external to internal or vice versa it switches you from whatever mode you were in to SNAP again +(

Let us save our view mode preference!!

I wish for realistic bomb drift and seperation, and the b-29 spuerfortress, you will see these requests over and over again throughout the bullitin board but apparently HTC does not.
