did you follow instructions on ati website and remove all existing cat drivers and extras first then reboot then install and reboot again?

You can use Driver Cleaner 3 -
http://www.driverheaven.net/cleaner/
I just used DC installing the Cat 4.5 and Nforce 4.24s.
It works great, just follow the instructions exactly and I use the included Cab cleaner option, as well.

Whels,
did you transfer your settings from AH1? or not? maybe need to check which font size you have loaded in AH2, just a suggestion, you may have already done this.

WHELS,
Make sure you are looking under the Direct 3D options.  AF makes my text blurry, so it is set to App pref but text looks great with AA x 4.

AF in AH1 definitely makes the text blurry with Radeons.

For me at least in AH2 AF actually makes the text better.

thanks for auggestions and help.  as it turned out Ansitropic
was the culprit. turned it off and both AH1 n 2 text cleared back
to normal even with AA @ 6x.

Eagle its a ATI 9800 pro 128ddr Cat 4.5s  running AH 1 n 2 @ 1280 res. getting 60 to 100+ in AH2 (think i need more tweaking
on vid settings) to get more out of it.

I was able to get the text cleared up when using AA and AF maxed in Aces High. I was using Rage 3DTweak  and then I followed this Guide
to optimize my settings. The game and text looked awesome once I did that.
