Stream,

I thought about the USAAF and decided to wait and do that a little later. If we had a decent Italy map then that is where I would want to run it for sure.

Reschke, I have said it a million times, if the map is to represent something historic then simply reset the milking, during peak squad times, back to the map theme!

The current map is a clasic example: The P-51D was limited to rear bases but when the milking took place, the P-51D was not advanced to the new "rear" bases. At 7pm last night I took it upon myself to swicth to Egypt and capture 32, 33 and 34. I switched back to Israel and now had a P-51D target.....GAZA!!! Not long after that, the squads showed up and used the CV to capture A5 (Tel Aviv). Although that was kinda porked it gave definition to the map theme and plenty of P-51D targets. Jester disabled the CV but left A5 for Egypt. Israel faught hard and won its independnce last night. I actually had fun. Screw the rest of the map, Gaza stripo is all we need

SO I say again, if the map gets porked, just reset it for squad nights!

I agree 100% with this, heck reset it every day at say...5:00PM eastern,  for that matter if base ownership is a critical part of the week's theme.

Well the 325th didn't have the 51 till 25th May 1944, they didn't get the P-47 till Dec 43... so they flew the P-40F for the invasion of Sicily.

If you look at the second article I put up... the allies pounded Sicily with  B-17s, B-25s, B-26s, P-38s, P-40s, A-36s, A-20s, and RAF Wellingtons; before the invasion.

So it is going to take a lot of teamwork this week...  What doesn't kill you....

Probably should have put in my last post that the milkrunner theme was in general and did not relate to a specific comment other than the one by "Oleg" in his post here. If I see a map getting run over then I do adjust it and have reset a map several times in the course of a week for playing among the squadrons.

I reset the Israel map, what was it.... Tuesday morning I think it was.  One side was getting pushed back into a corner so I found a time when no one was on and reset the map to re-establish the original "front lines".  Base capture and land grabbing is good to a certain degree because it fuels the battles and furballs.  But no one wants to be backed into a corner so I try to keep an eye on the arena to keep it from happening too much.

By the way, i dont see any allied plane that can deal with 109G-6, 190A5 or MC. 205 besides Spit9.

Actually with the exception of the spits the remaining aircraft are fairly well balanced.  The problem IMHO is not in the AC so much as with the armament.  The hispanos are much more effective than they should be and the axis are way penalized.  also the automatic fuel tank switching sequence is very good in the allied aircraft while backwards of what it should be in the axis.

the spit9 drains the wing tanks first

the 205 drains the aux first then the main.  if you drain the winds first it handles much better.  if you forget to switch tanks and the engine quits then you must restart the engine.

the 190's drain the forward tank first.  if you drain the rear tank first it performs better.

Just FYI - neither Spit9 nor Spit5 hasnt wing fuel tanks, only single tank in fuselage.
