About 7 years ago a buddy of mine and I traveled through some of Europe with our backpacks. In one of the many pubs we explored, I struck up a conversation with a local in the netherlands. He seemed completely shocked at what had just happened at the Olympics in Atlanta (the bombing). He asked me how america could let that happen. He said "America is supposed to be perfect. The ideal place and everyone is rich and happy. How could you let the rest of the world down with that bombing? How could you let that happen?"

I was really set back with what he said. It also got me thinking that America really is in the world spotlight. Kinda of like a Hollywood celebrity that looks glamorous on screen and in interviews and everyone wants what they have, but when the public finds out that they are just regular people with the same problems and sometimes worse, there is a huge disappointment that sinks in and turns into bitterness.

most people here complain about exact persons, institutions and their step

and somebody trying to put it somewhere else and show, that we are as silly as those, who are critized

Mosgoo struck on a familiar chord. Some think we have a perfect nation, and everyone is prosperous. Of course it isn't true, and when they find the reality doesn't match the fantasy, they get angry. Don't believe what you see on televison and in the movies, that is not an adequate reflection of anything.

Plus, a lot are just jealous of the fact that we do enjoy a decent quality of life and love our country, warts and all.
