Watching the recent History (or Discovery, forget which) channel program on the F-15, once again it's dumbfounding to see the Iraqi strategy of burying some of its presumably fully operational aircraft, an Ostrich defense if ever there was one.

If you were charged with Iraqi air defense after years of No Fly Zones and national isolation, confronted with overwhelming U.S.  and British air supremacy, what would you have done?

well.. if you were in command of the iraqi airforce.  Would you send young men up, helplessly outnumbered and outclassed against the combined might of the Royal Air Force and United States Air Force - to certain death?

Seems they did the smart thing.

if i was sadam i would of loaded themn up with chem wepons..flew 100 feet from ground and bomed the borders..

Isnt that a MAW raid anyway? fly 100 feet from the ground, auger, then realise AH doesnt have chem weapons.

mnay dotn play tht much but are down to be a team...

soemones gots to be the frontline grunt and goon drivers:)

hell soem of our guys are in a differnt world when they play...mac...hes a space cadet soemtimes  lol

I would have hired a good PR firm to get rid of the no fly zone and the boycot in about 2 weeks. Poor arabs just dont understand how the world works.

Most of the migs I found in Iraq weren't buried just pulled down a dirt road in some farmers field and left to be torn apart by the locals. I have a bunch of pictures of what we found if anyone is interested.
