Currently the mossie can carry 2 X DT or 2 x bombs or 8 rockets on it's wings. It could however carry rockets and DT's.

This would give the mossie the ability for deep penetration strikes. Maybe the mossie will become the plane of choice for long range raids...i hope.

pleeeeeease model the rockets and DT loadout.

The Mosquito will never, ever be used as deep penetration fighter, as long as a P-51D carries 2k bombs and 6xHVARs for free.

were these planes made to carry rockets and bombs at the same time? because everything ive seen in my "big colouring book of ww2 fighters "

says they could carry xBombs or xRockets...not xbombs and x rockets

Man how I've looked for the data required to do that. The data just doesn't seem to be there. The best I've been able to find is this chart:

The Mk.33's graph should be close, or match, the FB.VI without the shrouds. The Mk.6 on that chart has the shrouds.

The best wartime bomber Mosquito was the Mk XVI, which wouldn't be too far off those numbers. The best wartime fihgter mark would have been the NF.Mk.30, which could also do around 420mph. The most versatile and most produced mark was the FB.Mk VI that we have in AH. It also continued in production after WWII.

I flew several different Mossie MKV1 while on 21 Sqdn. RAF. Performance charts were of little use in that there were different loads of bombs , drop tanks etc. To achieve maximum performance you used your experience under the different circumstances.
All of the a/c I flew had the flame dampers and I was told that they did slow tha a/c down. However we could easily hold 350 after a shallow dive and levelling off and not at full throttle, I don't know what speed could have been maintained if the boost override was used , but i expect 400 would be easy.
Most of our flying was spent tooling around at 240 to 270 mph because anything faster really cut down on our range or time in area. Ability to fly slow was as important as going fast.

It'd be so cool to have real control of the engine, a few seconds of extra power for a fried engine...
