Tour of Duty is Looking for Squads
« on: August 20, 2001, 06:15:00 PM »
We're going into the final frame of the first TOD series this Friday. After that we're off to the Phillippines for the next series. If any of you guys want to get in on this *incredible* event you should probably register very soon. Orders will be going out to the squads for the next series this Sunday, so get in before then. Guests are always welcome also.

We've got about 100 flyers in already, but the more the merrier. It's been a huge success and very exciting - only one point seperates the Axis from the Allies going into the final frame.

The link to the TOD pages is in the events section of the HTC website. Head there and sign up... you'll have a blast!

I really didn't know if I'd enjoy this TOD or not, we never fielded enough squaddies in WB's version of it (5 at max) but this is incredible for team building skills, planning, etc.  Guests are welcome by squads that have signed up as well, so if you don't have quite a full squad (you can sign up as many members you feel will fill the TOD nights) you can have guests sign up.

If your CO or XO of a squad, sign up!  This is the best part of AH IMHO.

I have to admit that flying the TOD the other night was one of the most fun experiences I've had with AH.

Scenarios rock!

Give 'em hell Allies!  I'm not gonna be able to make the final frame, so you'll have to find someone to make up my 100pts!   ;)

TOD is great.  I couldn't commit to all the frames so I didn't register the squad.  But I'll try to make as many frames as possible as a guest.

Funked if you have 3 or 4 guys that would make the TOD's sign up your squad. You don't have to be there, but as long as some of your squadies are your good to go.

Keep in mind if you have a large squad but only a few can make it on Friday's you can still sign up but only commit 4-6 guys.  :) As long as one of them can be a frame C.O. once every couple of months should be no problem.  :)

I'm not a big fan of self-puntage... but it's for your own good, damnit.  :)

Next TOD: Mindanao, Sept. 1944

Sign up your squad or sign up as a guest. You will dig this.

Sure - just go to the link above, hit the guests link, then pick a squad out of the list that says they're open to guests. Then just fire off an e-mail to the CO. (the links will open an email to the CO of that squad). It's totally simple, you can sign up in 5 minutes and be flying in tomorrow's TOD. Make sure the CO gets back to you and confirms that you're in.

Good news Rude - will be great to see the 13th there! It's a bit trickier for entire squads, so again, make sure you have confirmation on this and have recieved your mission assignment. If you haven't heard from anyone directly yet, you will need to try and get ahold of someone. Otherwise you'll be all dressed up with no place to go tomorrow night.

This really is rather late in the game to be signing up for tomorrow's frame, but the TOD takes a week off next Friday, and Series 2 of the TOD starts the following Friday. So there's plenty of time to get organized and signed up for that.
