Can anyone tell me why they disabled night flying. I remember having lots of fun flying in the night.

I don't think there was any real reason behind it...at least no serious reason was given.  However, while some logged out when night came, I've never known of anyone logging out of the MA because it was daytime.  I do miss the night though.

Night was pointless... icon range was unchanged (6k at night? lol) and with so many messing with gamma settings to see it was laughable.

Still flying at nighttime was chellenging when they used to have it last like 30 mins every couple of hours, you could still see people even with long range icons do a Kennedy and  smack themselves into terra firma ...oh the memories <> :(

 View version 2.0 as the new foundation to build on the next 5 years like ah 1.0 was. There are lots of items built into the new engine that you don't see. We have done search lights, pixel shader fire and smoke, envirorment mapping. The frame work is in place for those items already. They will be comming in future version, but first 2.0 needs to be released ,solid and be able to run on older machines then we can go on to some cooler stuff for newer boards.

Presumably and hopefully to be used only in AH II : TOD. There is no use for night in the MA.

If Hitech adds night bombers and night fighters and night stuff maybe.  All in all tho, night was a bigger waste of time than bases a sector or more apart.
