The Cooler

Just watched The Cooler last night. Wow... Excellent, excellent movie. No big crashes, no big stunts, no CG... just your standard drama, but it's worth your time.

Yeah, I know... it's got Alec Baldwin and we all hate AB, but he does a fine job in this movie. William Macy is as always perfect and Maria Bello just makes me feel funny.

:aok

Absolutely no argument here.

And it's Alec not that anyone really gives a watermelon anyway.

I'll check it out, thanks for the heads-up Sandy.

Doh... I knew that... typo. :)

Not to give the story away, but a "cooler" is bad luck. The "old school" casinos hire them and whenever a table is winning, they send the cooler over. He's a whirlpool of suck. Everyone's luck goes bad just by being near. Macy plays the cooler.

Started watching it about 30 mins. ago, then a huge lightning storm appeared.

Funny... couldn't care less if my puter gets fritzed but my DVD player is sacred.

Ok, finished watching it.

I must say Mr. "I am outta here if Bush is elected" Baldwin was actually pretty damn good.  Macy was, well, Macy.  I always thought Maria had better boobs...ah well...

Rob Livingston (Office Space, Band of Brothers) was ok, I was expecting a bit more out of him.  His portrayal reminded me too much of Charlie Sheen.

Movie was good though, "old school style".

The question is... did you laugh when the Baldwin character broke his arm? :D

I think Alec Baldwin is one heck of a thespian. And the best of the best is Penn. By far. Why these two are such staunch librahls is kind of a fascinating coincidence.... but coincidence nonetheless.

It's not possible to have bad thoughts of Denise Richards in Wild Things. :)

Yeah, he can be that. This is probably the best thing he's done since Glengarry Glenn Ross.
