Req: Different tracer settings within one plane

How feasible would it be to allow different tracer settings per gun or set of guns in the same plane?  So, for instance, you could disable tracers in the forward firing guns of the 110 while enabling tracers for the tailgun.  Or you could enable tracers in the nose-mounted guns of the A-20 while disabling the tracers on the upper turret.  Etc, etc.

I would be MUCH happier if we could just get Tracer settings per vehicle.

It's VERY frustrating because I have tracers off in the P-51D, but like to have them on when in a ground vehicle or bomber.

It really sucks when you remember AFTER you start shooting.. then it's too late to switch....

So, PLEASE HiTech, can we have tracer settings per vehicle???

I know I'm not the only one to ask for this for the 10^100 time :D

From a personal standpoint, I prefer to turn tracers off for fixed, forward-firing guns.  However, I can't aim for squat with turrets or rear guns, so tracers would help.  Plus enabling or disabling turret/rear gun tracers has its own advantages and disadvantages independent of the main gun tracer selection.  For example, turning turret tracers on improves aim and potentially dissuades enemies from engaging.  Turning tracers off increases the surprise factor.

Mostly it struck me as a minor if occasionally useful feature.  It's probably not worth the coding effort.

These are all excellent ideas that I'd love to see.

So I'll throw in my 2 cents and make it more complicated.  How about tracers for individual sets of guns?  IE you could turn a plane's cannon tracers off, but its MG tracers on?

Complicated, but I'd love to see it.

Don't turrets show tracers to other people wether or not you have tracers on?

Would it be possible to override the users tracer settings in any situation where tracer status is fixed?  (i.e. show tracers in a flakpanzer/bomber guns even though you have tracers disabled, or dont show tracers in a manned ack even though they're on)

That's an AH1 bug or "feature." I'd be surprised if HTC doesn't change that with AH2.
