C47A - 37th TCS, 316th Troop Carrier Group (large pics)

Well.... my first skin.... so constructive comments please!

C47A of the 37th Troop Carrier Squadron, 316th Troop Carrier Group, 52nd Troop Carrier Wing, 9th Air Force, RAF Cottesmore 1944 - Operation Market Garden.

Since I work at RAF Cottesmore I thought I'd pay some respect to those that flew out of here!

Top invasion stripes were toned down/painted over for Operation Market Garden.  The paint would fade revealing the 'old' invasion stripes' and I've tried to replicate that effect.

Pretty much perfect, I'd say

 How about skinning the appropriate pilot gear? The hats won't be possible, but a dark leather pilot jacket would be awesome.

Hmm.. makes me curious now.

 If we skin the C-47 in Japanese or Soviet colors, like the VVS Li-2, will it be accepted??

I believe the Soviet one would be since it's simply a lend-lease C47 with different colours.  I'd like to do a RAF one sometime too.

Not sure about the Japanese one, is it identicle to the C47?

the japanese version had small differences in window arangement and some had a gun turret

but general shape is same. would make sense to allow japanese c47 version since no other japanese transport is modelled.

it was historic after all.

I was thinking of trying an RAF mustang MK IV or RAF B17.........
but i dont have the skins and cant get em.
