Well I think its time to call a bug a bug. This is in reference to the Ordnance usage on the Spitfires V, IV. The 500 Lb GP Bomb it is capable of killing any fresh (not hit by others) GV, inc. the Tiger. It also can take down a VH that is NOT SOFT; many in the arena have seen this. Many Exploit it.

       It is my experience that it takes 2,000 lbs to drop a VH and 1,000 lbs Direct hit on a panzer or tiger. Although I have had direct Hits w/ a 1,000 lbs on a Panzer and Tigers which has not destroyed the vehicles. I have also tried 1,000 lbs on a Vh with out it going down, the second bomb was needed. How can a 500lb'er do this ???


      If there is a misunderstanding on my part of the difference in the Spit bombs, then accept my apologies if not then HTC please do the research to this problem and solve this.

      I do remember when the TBM was removed for a bug issue, I am not calling for the removal of the Plane but, I would like to see the Ordinance fixed or removed on the spits until this is fixed.

500's will kill a Panzer no problem if you hit close enough.  I've done it often with the Mossie.

The Tiger on the other hand....
I once had a hit sprite from a 500lber on a Tiger and it didn't even smoke it, let alone kill it.


BTW, the Spit I has no ordanance options.  The V, IX and XIV do though.

The taking down a Vh w/ 500 lbs only from a spit. Thats a bug period.

I have heard this a long time ago from Panman who was at a VH... The VH fell from one egg dropped from a SpitV... That was it, nothing else was dropped before that egg.

Anyways this thread has sparked me to go and test this in the MA...

you can kill any Gv but a tiger with a 250lb bomb. doesnt even have to be a direct hit.

as toi the VH thing? im not so sure. a direct shot with the full ordinance on the spit9 (1000lbs) will take it down sometimes but not always. as to the spit5 (my regular ride) i have never seen a totaly 100% up VH being downed by one bomb, although i might start trying harder now :)

(damn morph, swing those jugs, oh yeah baby. MMMMMmmm! note to self: dont let my girlfriend see this enthusiasm about an animation........oh yeah baby   swing those jugs!)

I've killed a Tiger with a 500lb before and that wasn't from a Spitfire V.

The Spit is bugged period and some exploit that...


When the VH went down it was 1@500 lb bomb not 1,000 lbs from 3 bombs (1@500, 2@250), I have yet seen a 500 lber kill a TIGER that is the problem and kill VH's. This from spit 5, and 9
Im not the only one seeing this...Im sure they will carry this over to ah2...Bummer

Statement?  OKay,  I have killed Tigers with a single 500lb from a Hurricane on more than 3 occasions, and I've killed a Tiger with a P40E aswell, 500lb?  I've been killed in a Tiger by a P40E plus numerous other low payload aircraft.

As for faint memory, perhaps you should provide evidence (a film?) rather than 'faint memory' :)

VH at a V base only takes 1000lbs whilst a VH at an airfield takes 2,500lbs.  The loadout of 1@500, 2@250 is only available on a Spitfire 9, not a 5, but it is enough to kill a V base VH.

I say that the VH has already been weakened before the Spitfire V drops his bomb.

i can kill a tiger w/ one 250kg (550lbs) egg from my niki no problem.  

As to the VH, it was probably already weak.  I've seen a Zeke suicide dive into a cv carrier and kill it w/ it's guns.  That does NOT mean a zero's guns are a bug.  It just so happened that the cv had been hit already, and the zeke's bb's put it over the 8k damage mark.

Shouldn't be a problem to kill a Tiger, or any other tank for that matter, with a 500 lb bomb as long as it's a DIRECT HIT (ie, bomb impacts the top of the GV).  If you miss, even only by a few feet, then a Tiger will likely survive.

Please read my post...The VH had just come up...no hits on it and a spit w/ 500 lb killed it. It can hit next to a tiger and still kill it..

Like i said please read the post

I think i was pretty clear on the enviroment this happenes..
If not ill edit it if needed

Plus ah1 is going away well see if it changes in AHII

Unless you're arguing over the Spit V in AHII, this is all academic. AH1 will be gone soon.
