But, if there are any requests for special memorabilia, I'll try to take 'em into account.

Gonna spend most of the time in Kolomna, but we're going through Moscow and might go sight seeing if the weather turns to sh|t and operations are on standby at the DZ.

Just lemme know if you want a really cheezy Red Army fur hat or something :D

Santa, what did you forget in Kolomna?! It's just a small town 100km from Moscow with almost nothing to see except some old churches and maybe a local museum left from Soviet times...

When you'll be in Moscow - call me, 109-6453. And please prepare your liver! ;) Unfortunately I can't offer accomodation in Moscow for you, I'll have my cousin in my apartment in July, but I'll feel offended if you'll not call me ;)

Some advises: when you go buying all that souvenir stuff in places like Arbat - please take some Russian friends with you, otherwise the traders will skin you. Everything costs 2-3times more if you ask for the price in English. If you buy Commander's watch - try to make sure it's an original Vostok watch made in Chistopol'. Refrain from buying "military coats" (shinel) - they are too heavy and big to carry in your luggage.

Hmm. I don't know if they make Soviet flags any more, I mean the Red Banner with hammer, sickle and a star in the corner. Communists carry this flags on the protest demonstrations, but it can be old stock ;) Navy flag? A Soviet Navy flag, white, with blue strip and red star, hammer and sickle? Or a Russian Navy St.Andrew's flag, white with blue diagonal cross? I think I saw old Soviet flags in places like Arbat, but I have no idea how much they cost.

There are several online shope that sell cold-war stuff, i'll search for them tomorrow when i'll be at work.

Sounds like a fair deal.
Levi's were $8 - $12 (in '79)

I know he got $100 for just one of those hats. :aok

Find me a cheap M38 Mosin Carbine..

And anything usable for WWII russian impressions.

A wide double buckle belt would be great! make sure it's like size 40 just incase!

Hehehe...a good invitation there! I've always wanted a chance to drink with a friendly Russian, just to see if the stories of their ability to hold liquor are true ;)

And those fur hats sold for $200 each here. Who fooled who again?

What the heck is the exchange rate on a ruble anyway?

MiG-29 (sounds fun), tanks , nuke missiles (self defense, I understand...).

You're holding back, dudes. Don't be shy. Allow yourselves to be a little wild and suggest something more...heavy and cheap, will ya?

Will look for the cheaper and less heavy stuff. Oh, and if you give me an down payment on a MiG, I'll be sure to look into that, too.

Kolomna has this :D. And up to 5 An-28's. A bunch of us are going there to skydive. Hoping to get 150-200 jumps in three weeks - if the weather allows. Only 6 weeks to go.

Will do dude! Accomodation will sort itself out I'm sure. I'll try to bring what's left of my liver (played beer game last weekend, and lost badly) - it's gonna be cool :)

Well, I know one Russian dude in Kolomna, and you in Moscow. That should be enough to raise some serious mischief, no?

Hm, Boroda piss drunk on vodka and me with numb lips from drinking...I'm gonna bring ya lots of Toad quotes and see how far up I can get your blood pressure :D

I suppose an extremely grateful 6 foot blonde 22 year old who was runner up in the Miss Moscow competition would be completely out of the question?

Does Moscow have arts districts, like the French  Quarter in New Orleans?  Might be neat to buy some art work if it's available.  I'm talking paintings here.  Done on canvas and not Elvis on velvet.:D

Course there they probably have Lenin on velvet, but you know what I mean.  Real paintings.
