vox and vid freeze's and lockup's
« on: May 17, 2004, 06:04:26 AM »
Getting strange vox problems and screen freeze's that turn into lockup's...

Set vox to 125 or any channel (for Squad) and get  a sudden sound problem after about 10 or 15 minutes online in the arena.

The speakers name stays in the upper right corner and sound is like the speaker has his vox button/key held down.  Stays that way for awhile then suddenly changes names and continues.  Sometimes sound goes back to normal but speakers name stays in upper right hand corner.  Can talk to all local and squad when I 1st log on but after the sound problem starts only thing that seems to help is go to setup gamesounds and move the slider for master sound all the way down and then back up.  This brings back normal sounds but can no longer vox with anyone.

Also had screen freeze and lockup when a 190 shot me down while flying a p51d with an alternate skin (battlin betty skin?  the one with the yellow and black checkering).  Had to shut down computer and reboot on this one! :(

Also when I make any change to vid (1st time was a change to gamma setting, this also happens even if no change is made and click on apply or OK) and click on apply I get a screen change to black then to tan/brown stays there and locks up and have to crtl+alt+del and end program to get out.  Can then restart and re-enter arena.  At least at this point the changes have takin affect. Everything normal after that for about 10 or 15 minutes then it all starts again. :(

System

Vid: ATI 9800 pro (128)  With latest Cat drivers

MB: Asus A7V8X-X  With bios version 109

CPU: AMD 2500+ barton

OS: Win 98se

Memory 512

DirectX 9.0b

FPS is normally between 55 and 75

Sound: set to on board sound,"SoundMax", but have SB512 installed for game port/analog controls. (possible this is the problem, or part of the problem, but has only happened so far in AHII and in no other game I have including AHI.)

Would appreciate any input from HTC on dual sound system situation. Note: I don't have any trouble in AHI with this setup!!!

Oh HEY love the oil affect on the canopy! :D

It's been said we have three brains, one cobbled on top of the next. The stem is first, the reptilian brain; then the mammalian cerebellum; finally the over developed cerebral cortex.  They don't work together in awfully good harmony - hence ax murders, mobs, and socialism.
