Spy stuff
« on: May 17, 2004, 09:43:47 AM »
Is it against the rules to spy?  We had a guy flying with us yesterday (noe) that kept poping on radar and when we arived at the base, he did not engage the enemy that was waiting for us.  Even better, a couple of times the enemy got on his six and did not fire a single shot.  He must have spent 15 mins hovering ovewr that base before he left.  In any case.  If spying is not against HT rules can we please have a way to vote kill-shooter off from domebody?  Only for a few minutes.  PLease????:D   Then we can take care of the prob ourselfs

Names PLEASE!  Part of the "self policeing" of the game could be the humiliation associated with "cheating"

NAMES!

LOL

I got the name and the film.  But just in case my perception was wrong, I don;t want to give the name out.  If however we could vote kill-shooter off for a minute or so, and it took 10 or more votes to do that, we could have solved the prob ourselfs.  And yes, I do understand that 10 people can be wrong but . . .

Also, in real war there are spies.  I don;t see it as cheating.  However, if you got caught you were executed.  Here, if a spy gets caught, the just laug at you.

Ya really Wildthing.hehe. If the guys lame enough to go outta his way to change countries and all that, just to spy and maybe change the outcome of an hours worth of virtual fitin, I don't think his moral minimums are set high enough to give a rats ass. about BBS humiliation.

Now if we could meet him in RL , drink him out cold, tie his girlie undies around his head and drop him off in the crack dealin part of town, now that would be humiliating.

maybe if you change coutries you should have something on your icon which lets the rest know of your recent trecherous ways, at least for 24 hours. or just cancel killshooter as the feather armed flyer guy said. or even just have a killshooter block for recent country jumpers.

by the way   how do i set up an avatar or whatever the hell they are called? (love the female general willdcard  :) )
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

Spying can be good. Take for example the case where a commonly un-liked player mouthes off on CH1 with hours of insults. Its often possible to get one of his OWN countrymen to make him wingman, then tell you exactly where "Chi" is.   Ah the good life-

I wonder if Chi & Socrates ever met, or maybe they just share a brain.

Huh...NOT !!!!!!!!!!!

I have played Rooks and Knights. NEVER EVER told either country a flippin thing about the others status. Labeling someone anything in this GAME is not fair at all. Not that it would happen because I think it's isolated and not that important to HTC. I plan on playinig both for awhile to. I may stay Rooks during the week and Knight on Weekends to fly with a few buds that are knights. I have buds on BOTH sides.

I agree that if someone feels soo inclined to play country swapper for the purposes of Spying then so be it...it's there lame rear that will eventually get caught at it.

But lets not jump to conclusions that just because someone was a knight that morning doesnt mean that because they are a rook that night that they are spying.;)

There is nothing wrong with anyone changing countries.  As a matter of fact, it is depended on in order to help balance the numbers of the countries.

I wouldn't mind seeing rank based access to field guns and shore batteries like they are on cv's. If you coupled that with changing countries resets your rank to zero, and then not allowing zero ranks to take over cv's or guns, that might cure some spy problems. A player wouldn't be able to just switch countries and take control of various assets so easily.

The mechanism is there.  It's the players choice to use it.
