Different Tex. Tex still does the AW thing. I exchanged emails with him about a week ago and he said he might be heading to the AH CON with Sharkbait, NoBaddy and LoneWolf to rub elbows with HiTech,  Pyro et al.
I'll pass this post on and maybe he'll pop in here and say "Hi."

Side note: Tex was drafted, inducted or kidnapped in a drunken stupor by the original "Gunslingers" at the 99 AW CON. I saw Wolfman (the original. One half of the infamous DeadDuck/Wolfman duo) get hip checked into the CON room dividers by Tex during a game of Crud .  Tex aint small. Neither was Wolfman <G> )  It was scary!

I noticed it too when I started playing but it goes away after two or three weeks tops. Some people are use to flying in relaxed mode. It teaches you believe it or not. Sertain ankles to take on an attack are more beneficial than others, depending on the plane also. I like it. It makes the pilot's skills sharper for relaxed mode games.

Head bobbing?! Oh yeah! I forgot that was in there.

The only head bobbing I pay attention to any more is my wifes.

I had totally forgotten about that "Feature".

Fats, a few people have complained, then after they flew for a week or two, they never mentioned it again.

I am in the seemingly long process of overcoming my own arcade background. I understood exactly what Tex was talking about. The head-bobbing was abit vexing for me also... but the point I find interesting is the fact that all claim to not even notice it exists after settling into the sim. If that is the case, why is it there? To me it is like the neighbor dog barking... alittle annoying to visitors but otherwise I no longer hear it.

"If that is the case, why is it there? "

Possibly some of us have adapted to the effect as we learned to fly the aircraft better over time? I'm not sure.  I have to make a note to catch this effect in action. When does it occur - or supposed to occur?

To me the head movement seemed odd and very out of place.  Then I took a moment and applied some logic to it.  From that point on I have appreciated it.

A few weeks back I played another game H2H and realized how much immersion it actually added to AH.  It definately adds difficulty but then you either adapt or drop out.

Know what I mean? You dont need the neck brace.

Only been in AH for 2 tours, but had to figure out what you were talking about Tex. Because the other guys are right, after a week or so, you just don't notice it anymore. I think it's a great immersion factor. Anyone who's ever pushed Neg G's and had their bellybutton rise up out of the seat until the harness catches you will vouch for me   The stall/spin thing is funny too. Used to be an effort to avoid them. Now its an effort to try to get in one.   Give it a few weeks before you form an opinion.

Hmmmm, my biggest head movement problem in AH has always been banging it on the keyboard after another dumb move. Obviously lot of stuff bout current FM I'm at odds with...but G modeling has always been great. Very smooth and consistant thru moves.

I'd heard that WB was gonna go flat rate so I went and got the DL to see what it was all about. About the only thing I liked there was some of cockpit art was better than AH. But everything is so dark there it's really hard to see anything even without the head bobing modeled. And the tracers when you fire the guns, made me think I was back in ol' AW3 again.
Tex, give AH an even shake and I think you will overlook the few little personality quirks.

I have been flying AH since October last and honestly have NO idea what is being talked about in this thread....head movement/bobbing??  Maybe my machine is just too cheap to catch the nuances TEX is mentioning.  Oh well, nice to know there are a few others that aren't familiar with this phenomenon.
