Okay to all you people who dunno what this head movement thing is...

go offline, do some abrupt rolls or ham fisted moves to the stick

if you roll suddenly, your POV jerks in the opposite direction of the roll due to centrifical force, but only for a second, then goes back to normal if you continute the roll.

If you pull back sharply, your POV slides down(as if by G force pulling your head down) which goes back to normal if the G force is sustained.

Push hard forward, and the pilot rises out of his seat (and reds out if you do it hard)

Tis so immersive you forget about it as if it were natural

Ahhhhh. That's why if I fly in WB's or AW my head feels like it's pinned down to the head rest by 10penny nails - besides the old 2D cockpit look.. Thanks Jigster.  All cleared up now for me.  I realise now I'd just gotten used to it so long ago. Like two days after I started

I purposely paid attention yesterday just to see what this was about.  I guess I really did get used to it, because when I really looked hard, I could see some head movement when doing maneuvers.

I came from Fighter Ace and after a year and a half of 1.0 and 1.5, I got into the bad habit of being able to jerk my stick around without loosing too much e (fly 1.5, you'll understand).  When I got to WB and AH, most of the maneuvers I flew would cause stalls, spins, and basically bleed so much e that I became a sitting duck.  I'm very gentle gentle on the stick now, gentle with my maneuvers....what I did notice yesterday was not enough to impact the game for me.  Smooth and easy, not too many g's, is the way I try to fly now.

Hardest part I had converting over from AW was the departure model. AW had a very arcadish-type spin model that relied on alieron to arrest a roll rather then rudder. I remember when I first starting playing AH I could never figure why when I was turning to the left, pulled to hard, and dropped a wing, the plane would roll the opposite way

I still like to think the AW's buffet and accelerated stalls are done a little bit better then in AH (I just get annoyed with the stall warning buzzer, and the lack of buffet in dives, accelerated stalls and normal stalls. It seems all planes have basically the same pre-depature characteristics save the F4U, just my perspective of coures)

I think as it's set up now, the stall warning buzzer takes the place of airframe buffet.

I liked the way aw modeled blackouts too. If you blacked out in a dogfight in aw it was a bad thing .

Ya AW had that nifty fatigue thing. Accumulated G fatigue would go a long way here.

I'd really like to see the bunters get a permanent red tint from negative G manuvers
