Why most people hate it is because the way AH is set up, it encourages HO's.
In WB's, if both participants had their wings shredded in a HO, or, basically both hit the ground real hard after encounter, both pilots would receive the kill award from each other.
In AH, only one does, so, it makes it worth the risk.
IMO, if the WB's method of dying was implemented, then you'd see less HO's and more ACM.
