Wheel Brakes
« on: October 06, 2000, 01:53:00 PM »
Has anyone noticed how the wheel brakes make your plane tip forward when they are appiled? Even with full elevator, the nose will not come up, which forces you to slam the tail-wheel down once you stop. In a real plane, you can giv up elevator to slowly put the tail-wheel on the ground and then hold it there while you apply brakes.

I flipped a p51 over at 5 mph last night at base a2 while trying to stop to refuel.  After it happened the whole screen turned red and I had to type .ef to get it back.  (Of course it ruined a 4 kill mission.   )

I used to have the same problem when I first started out. After learning the speed/stall numbers for the ac I fly it's not too difficult to land and not have to use the brakes except to come to a complete stop. I have had to do some T&G's because I didn't nail the landing...adds a bit of realism IMO.
