Have many of you taken long breaks?

I started online flight sims right after Warbirds went out of beta.

I still remeber my first few kills and people like Warr Zdom Vigl and Spinny.

The was back in like 94-95 maybe?

I was working part time at Egghead and then Software ETC, at 2 bucks an hour I counted my hours worked as time I could spend online! It was the only thing tha could compete with my goat for my interest. Hell, if my dad had found out I spend 360$ one month on Warbirds he would have killed me!

I was averaging 250$ a month, and loved it.

What killed it for me was a 40 hour a week job that was really stressfull. I would get home and not want to touch a PC, so I stopped playing much.

Came back about a year later and my F22 gave me tendonitis, lol 14 hous of play one night then another 10 hour session with a stick with 20 pound spring lol.

The Warbirds went into the ****ter and I stopped playing. I kept track of AH through the beta but never got to play tell about a year ago, then had to stop again.

Now I have time on my hands and can play, but it is frustrating sucking so bad! lol, I was good! Heck I could give some of the best players I knew a run for their money, Not now! :P

I think it has to do with the numbers. I was okay at 1v1 or even 1v2.... but the MA is a different beast now. You need something called SA to stay alive. Some folks have a real knack for it. I don't have it... and I get eaten for lunch regularly.

I started online with Red Baron, I got killed regularly, didn't have a clue - then someone explained about SA and gunnery and acm, got some rudder pedals, practiced...A LOT - like for a year.

Then one day I was flying alone over the "mud" very high in my black and silver Dr1 and I saw a lot of nme a/c below me and they started to chatter on the chan1 instead of country channel, the usual stuff "high Dr1", "high Nme a/c" etc then someone said
"Careful it's Schadenfreude" took a few moments that to realise that there were 4 of them and 1 of me and they thought they were the one's in danger!!

 I'd arrived....

I have the Shaw book, have had it for years lol.

Sometimes it is hard for me to take what  he is saying in the book and apply it to the game.

Hell I am still not sure what a rolling reversal is, is it like a barrel roll but sloppier?

Thrawn, what web sites?
