What team in the NHL south of canada has local talent. This is professional sports not local high school crap, get over it.

He is only whineing about that because it is the only thing left for him to grasp onto. It is an idiotic thing to whine about as well. This is professional sports not high school. Hell, college dosnt even get local talent anymore.

Eight of the people I listed played for the Bruins at one time or another. I'm just making a point that Florida isn't exactly a hotbed for hockey, dear lord stop crying, if you can't take a ribbing you are in the wrong place.

Boston is SOOO loaded with local talent...

Gill and Donato.

Then there are:

15 Canadien born

2 Swedes

2 Czechs

2 Russians


give it time... Florida's youth programs are still young and are already starting to show signs of players with great talent... my bet is it is not long before they start playing in the NHL

Florida's youth programs are still young and are already starting to show signs of players with great talent... my bet is it is not long before they start playing in the NHL

I would like to agree, but up north ice skating usually starts at the age of 4. Hockey is different from others sports in that very rarely will a person introduced to ice skating and hockey in their early teens ever make it to the NHL. Especially in Canada, where it is tradition to get skates almost as soon as you can walk. And you don't make back yard skating rinks or skate on a frozen ponds in Florida. I could be wrong, but I just don't see it.

as for the players you just listed, are any playing for Boston now?  NO

Was I born in Florida, NO, actually from further north then you.  Started skating by two, was playing hockey from 4 till 22.  Pick up, adult leagues, and coaching after that.   How about you?

lol, so skating all summer at an indoor rink doesn't count....????  just because you live in a northern area does not make you "better" because you start skating on a pond.  The youth programs have kids as young as three participating, and when I coached "peewee" in Orlando, our program had a couple of two year olds skating at the mini-mites practices.
