Screenfreezes for me come mostly from the text buffer.  Also when I type I get freezes.

I had a few minor screen freezes this afternoon but only when I first went up. Prolly a texture load thing since I changed my vidio settings.

Don't know what your system is, and have no experience with ATI cards.

I'm at max on everything and got maybe 26 on the runway today with everything burning. High forties or better in a BIG furball. Seventies and eightes away from the crowd.

I'm seeing a trend of the freezes with ATI cards from reading the board.

ATI seems to always have a quirk runnin the game.  Did you try dropping your texture size to 512 ?? Worked for me runnin a 1.2 AMD with a GeForce 2 card before the upgrade.

Add on plane textures while your on MAY be an issue.  HT will work it out.

In the game Tbolt, under video settings, "Max Texture Size". You currently have it set to unlimited, hit the drop box and select "512"

The problem seems to be an ATI card problem.   It has to do with the Texture Size, and setting it down only makes the problem worse.    Last night I watched the Texture buffer really close, and the stuttering seemed to happem the most when the Availible and Active memorys either came close or were the same.   When the Active exceeded the Availible the system crashed either to the desk top or to the blue screen.

After setting the Texture size to unlimited, most of those problems disappeared.   What I see the ATI cards are simply not using enough memory for the cache.   Unless that issue is corrected the ATI cards will suffer CTD's and frame rate hits.
