strk... then don't vote democrat.   the main gun control push comes from democrats.. they have been narrowly defeated in a lot of the bills they have introduced that would ban semi auto pistols and semi auto and pump shotguns.

fienstein has authored bans that would ban the 1911.   kerry take every opportunity to pose with here and scheumer and has stated that he will defeat the NRA (gun owners).

Well that doesn't make sense because a semi-auto is no different than a revolver - unless they want to ban them too and only allow you to place a single cartridge into the breach one at a time?  That would do a lot to improve accuracy.

Even if cali could pass such a thing I dont think it would pass constitutional muster.  The 9th circuit may let it stand, but the SC would jump on it with both feet imo.  Fully auto there is a public safety issue re criminals, but for semis this stuff goes too far.  I would like to invoke liberal tactic #3 and ask for a link to the bill if you happen to have one, Im not calling BS  I would just like to see it.

I live in Virginia, you can always move over here if Cali gets too lefty for you.  We arent banning semi-autos any time soon I can tell you.  Plus most of the state has no emission testing (o/t)  Hell I picked up a gun lock the other day at the local county courthouse which was giving them away for free!

strk.. the laws banning semi autos that finestien and schemer propose are federal laws.   You won't be able to move anywhere to avoid em.

As for the logic of revolver and semi auto and pump vs semi auto...  When did a democrat ever propose a gun law that was based on even the slightest bit of firearms savy?

when?  never... tell me why bayonet lugs make an "assault rifle"  or even how a semi auto can be an "assault rifle" and you win the "understanding the mind of a democrat" prize.

the first second and all further place winners will get a free ride back to moms house to live where they will get the ultimate protection from themselves.

In the case of the Clinton ban I think it was all about appeasement rather than substance. Guess that's one thing we have to be thankful for. Kinda sums up the whole of Clinton's eight years in office now that I think about it.

well... strk is just learning it seems... he is at the point where he is trying to put logic and democrats in the same sentance when it comes to firearms...

He is in for a big letdown... I hope his backlash is a good one.   We need more angry young guys who have been betrayed by the democrats and euro socialists.

most democrats that turn usually start when they look around at the company they keep and realize that they are better than that.

John Moses Browning, was a God!

It amazes me, then guns come and go, and there are big fads, (like the Berreta 92fad, after the army adopted it) but the 1911 just keeps on coming.

It is the finest handgun ever made.

Morp, glad to hear you shoot it, collecting stuff without using it seems silly to me(unless it is REALLY rare)

I agree Gto. They were made to be shot. So when I get something thats old and has some value I can't just lock it up in the safe and look at it once in a while. I HAVE to shoot it hehe.

Its a "gun nut" thing. You know :)
