Gunning on an 8" cruiser cannon using pan (F8) mode.
With AH1 in pan mode (using the F8 button) the view centers on the cross hair and the horizon moves when you raise and lower the gun. AH2 pan centers the view on the horizon and the cross hair moves when you raise and lower the gun.
Of the above two methods, the cross hair center of AH1 is much better. When you zoom in and pan down to see the target, the amount of raising and lower of the gun can be seen as the target moves up or down. In AH2 only the cross hair moves and, since you can't see the cross hair when zoomed in, there is no way to see how much you've raised or lowered the gun.
I don't know if this was done on purpose or why, but if possible it would be great to change AH2 to use the same pan view that AH1 had.
Also, we must be able to see the 8" trajectory (smoke or tracer) to detect where the shell is hitting. The hit points on the ground are hard to see and are often obstructed by ground objects.
