My Movies Airfest Movies You need a good video editor...the best 'on the cheap' Ive found is Sony Screenblast.....friends dont let friends buy Pinnacle! SCreenblast is very affordable at $99 retail and on sale all the time for $69 or so, and offers all the editing you could ever want.
You will also need a sound editor, any piece of crap editor should suffice, all you are doing is editing some sound effects length and such. BTW if you didnt know, you'll be adding your sound in AFTER you are done editing. Sounds are put in at the final stage and are a post production thing (just like real movies), you are not going to use the 'real' as in 'as it happens' sounds. They are just not usable as you edit films together.
Music is a but sticky....I sometimes use music from my CDs...and for my personal use and such here its no big deal....my films arnt popular enough to warrent any attention....however I also use quite a bit of self generated music from soundforge....and thats 100% legal cause I paid for it to be used as such
In the end you should have 2-4 'views' of each scene, and cut them together to tell a story.
