Hmm...
I believe Genghis Khan's invasion of Islam was the 1st of the mongol invasions, and I believe Tamerlane tried to rebuild that empire.
And according to many historians that invasion changed the course of Islam dramatically. Seem to recall reports that Genghis claimed he was Allah's punishment upon the world of Islam. Hmm a head trip on his enemies?
I'm not sure that the proper name for those that flew the planes into buildings would be religious fundies. I tend to see them as something else altogether. I further fail to see how christians, or the average muslim, and these extremist compare. Perhaps you can help me out here?

Tamerlane came after Ghengis, started off around samarkand, invaded Persia, Russia, then India. Don't where you came up with "Genghis Khan came after Tamerlane" 'cause I didn't say anything of the sort.//
Please re-read my post. I believe I posed that as a question???
According to some military history books I have read, Genghis Khan's invasion of Islam was the 1st of any mongol attacks in that area. An aside, a couple of his generals wonder north westerly with some troops and struck fear into all of western europe.
