They have no arguement. One wrongfull death makes us as bad as a dictatorship. Humans are to prone to failure, even with due process, to declare who dies and who lives.

"horrific"?  What's horrific about someone choosing to die a quick painless death at the time of their choosing, rather than suffer a terminal disease through its final stages?

Is it worse? Crime rates are multitudes lower in "wussy liberal states".

I suspect you're comparing apples and oranges.   What percentage of Finns are first or second generation Finns?

The US has a wide range of ethnic backgrounds present.  We have tremendous variations in income levels.

The entire discussion is filled with doubt, errors in judgment and confusion.  There are very few facts present.

I know two facts:

1.  If person X wantonly kills person Y and is consequently executed by the state, person X will not kill again.

2.  If you are religious (I'm not,) then killing someone is harmless to the individual; you're simply placing his fate in the hands of his creator.

Fact 1. If the point of the death penalty served as a deterrent. Then death row would be empty. It isn't so the death penalty doesn't work. X won't kill again if he's in prison for life either.

Fact 2. That is very true. Some religious people often seem to use that to justify killing, notably Islamic terrorists.
But the Commandment says: 'Thou shalt not kill'

It doesn't say: 'Thou shalt not kill except in the following situation........

The death penalty is legal murder and all about revenge. No more than that.

Actually it says "You shall not murder"  killing is perfectly fine. Exodus Chapter 20 verse 13 New International Version of the Bible.  sorry but you are wrong.
