What's most important to you?
« on: June 02, 2001, 07:14:00 AM »
Of course we have no real influence, but if you had to choose between the following two options, what would be your choice?

1) Freeze the current plane and vehicle set for six months and let HTC spend its time developing new terrain.  Of course, the terrain would be rotated with each reset.

2) Freeze the terrains (you don't get new terrain for six months) and HTC spends its time developing new planes, vehicles and bells and whistles for the UI.

That's kinda confusing... It doesn't take 6 months to create a terrain...

So by that do you mean things like roads, bridges, trains, towns, supply systems, more strat elements etc.?

If that's what yer asking, then yah. I know that tons of people feel differently about it, but personally I've got enough choice as far as plane selection goes for now.

Freeze the current plane and vehicle set and using the limited resources to tune the actual planes and weapons, adding also as may factors as possible to get a more inmersive atmosphere (more strat, more functionality, etc).

Anyway, IMO, HCT has its resources very specialized, probably you cant use PYRO to write code, for example.

Yup Gotta agree. Develop the terrains. The planeset is no where near complete especially for scenarios but having seen some of the work and ideas in the "Terrain" forum the "Immersion" factor could go through the roof.

how about both?
If HTC doesn`t heve enough resorces, than hire some people to do it,or simply run out of buisness..

OK guys, allow me to play therapist!  I hear dissatisfaction.  However, there is a cure.  Find a way to play the game the way "you" feel it should be played with what we have right now and your game will only improve as different planes, terrains etc. are added in the future.
I believe I read the word "immersion" in 3 posts, ok maybe 2 and 1 implied.  Immersion to me means that when I start playing I'm no longer a middle aged mid-level manager in 21st century central Pa.  I'm 21 years old, first time away from home and in command of the pride of the 8th Air Force a B-17 Flying Fortress.  I'm sitting in a smoke filled room waiting for the CO to enter and announce the mission but the smoke doesn't bother me cause I'm as ignorant as dung about any cancer causing elements in it.  Instead I suck on my Camel with abandon and wonder what today's mission will bring.  TENHUT!!!  The CO enters, yanks back the courtain and a hush comes over the quonset hut.  Jumping Jehosephat!!!  Bish HQ "AND" all the support facilities near it.  The city, munitions factories, training facilities etc. etc.  All in one mission!!!  Plot lines are all over the map.  Bomber streams from 3 bases, fighter escorts from 3 more.  One big rendevouz point with altitudes and headings all over the map.  Boy, if we pull this off the Evil Bish are going to be reduced to a crying whimpering mass.
This guys is IMMERSION and believe it or not it's available and possible right now.  What keeps us from doing it is the desire of guys like me to "force" guys who only want to come in here for 45 minutes, shoot things up a bit and then go on to something else.  What a guy like me has got to do is to find enough other nuts that think alike, get together and we'll all be happy campers.

I got a better idea. Let Nuttz and other coolio terrain makers MAKE the terrains and let HTC make the new planes.

2 birds in one shot...works for me!

I would have to say I am content with the current map set with the current map makers sending in the great maps they have been turning out for the events.  But I am not completly satisfied with the plane set, I have to say that I would like to see more Japanese planes with only 3 fighters and no bombers or torp planes, all I want before they go on a map making benge is the Kate and the Val I can wait on the betty I would just like to see a couple of other CV launched attk planes from non-US contries.

I'd be content with a beer tap (where in hell is Sally?) and some ice.

CHicks we need more CHICKS in AH.

Where Is my "Chicks of Aces High Calender"?

I vote planeset balance.
TAC, thanx for your kind words.
HTC, and the CM have Added me to the map making team

I can say there are not good thinks just around the corner, there are GREAT things!!!!!
HTC, just released Jihad's PTO terrain. Fly in it you can smell the blossoms of the terrain. A very nice terrain indeed.

The CM team are working very, very, hard behind the scenes and GREAT things are just around the corner, LOL, unfortunately it's never fast enough.

It's not an either/or.  You get them both.  The terrains are already being worked on since we want to get the new terrain rotation system going, but that doesn't mean no new planes for the next version either.  And 6 months is too long anyway.

I would rather have new elements placed within the terrain than new terrains. (although, I do not like that terrain we had last tour one bit, and feel that it is a key factor in a lot of complaints arising about 'same old gameplay')
