Flaming Planes
« on: June 01, 2004, 07:57:22 PM »
Have noticed just yesterday and today I have hit planes good, parts flying off, they will be on fire, 1/2 wing etc... and still be flying / turning as if they have no damage. Now I've seen this before on Zekes in AH1 but only rarely. It's been on Niks, Spits, 51s and more in AH2 and pretty often today.

PS... Others I was flying with saw the same thing.

Specs:
PIII 1 Gig
768 mb SDRAM
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
Win 2K

Average FRs in AH2 about 35fps, up to 65fps

Fire represents a fuel fire, the plane will be function for a while until the wing burns off.

I have seen the same thing DipStick, but when I then zoomed in on it, I coud then see the wing rendered. Zoom out and the wing is gone again.

Did you zoom in on the plane at all ?

Thanks for the response HT and Slap. Don't recall zooming in but understand the situation now. Not sure why you would / should have to zoom in to see a wing that is still there (sounds like a graphics glitch) but it's cool. Not really a problem accept it will cause one to use alot more ammo I'd think. ;)

Oh .. I am not saying that we should have to zoom in. That piece of info was for HT to better understand the rendering aspects of what I saw.
