Crippled by 50 shell hits of 8 inch or less during the first Naval Battle Of Guadalcanal. Struck by 4 torpedeoes from aircraft of the U.S.S. Enterprise and sunk off Savo Island November 13 1942
BB- Kirishima
Totally disabled from gunfire from the U.S.S. Washington during the Second Battle Of Gadalcanal. Kirishima recieved 9-16 inch and over 40-5 inch hits at a range of only 8400 yards and was scuttled November 15 1942
CA- Tone Sunk in shallow water by aircraft from Task Force 38 near Kure Island July 24 1945, Broken up for scrap in 1948
