Question about WWII medicine
« on: June 03, 2004, 12:05:21 AM »
Currently, the most common allergies are to penicillin and sulfa drugs or to their derivatives. However, these drugs were used exclusively during WWII and I have yet to read any accounts where any allergic reactions took place.

Does anyone have any further information about any possible reactions? Any book recommendations?

As a side note, I'd be interested if there was many antibiotic resistant bacteria during this period.

Thanks in advance!
