« on: June 04, 2001, 10:56:00 AM »
This afternoon (monday 4 june 2001 17:00) at At the aerial meeting of Rouen-Boos a spitfire (mark unknown pilot unknwon) as crashed killing her pilot.

I was about 2 km for the crash site looking a thoss beautiful machines when one of the twelves spitfire started smoking badly.

After 1/2 minute I've seen  a big column of smoke and listening the radio I learned the death of the pilot.

god bless him.

Not a good few days for Vintage aircraft.

A Super-Cobra and a Vampire crashed at Biggen Hill Airshow over the weekend.
War! Never been so much fun. War! Never been so much fun! Go to your brother, Kill him with your gun, Leave him lying in his uniform, Dying in the sun.

This morning, June 5, 0600EDT, I saw a piece on the news that another vintage warbird had gone down... just caught the tail end of the story. Perhaps this was the Spitfire mentioned above. I'm sure this crash will receive coverage since there is video of the carnage...

Sad...
