What Is Your Most Satisfying Moment in Aces High...

Well..not MOST satisfying..but certainly one of the most..and recent...

Flying this am in a Spit V...saw a Yak on a fellow knight. Fllow knight seemed in trouble and dove out to get away...Yak decided he wanted to fight me..So after a couple of turns at 12k..He died..During the time of killing him..annother Spit V comes in to try me..Couple of turns at alt..he is dead....Get straightened out and heres a Tyhpie jusr coming hard and fast. After a few passes and turn here and there...He is dead. STILL no damage and 112 20mm left...So I decide to see what else I can get into and heres an LA7 doing his best sneak on me...Turn here and there and he is dead. all this in like 5 to 10 minutes.

Fought 6 guys the other night whikle flying for Rooks....Killed 3 of them....and beat feet as I was hit and in trouble...So I ran to my carrier being chansed by F6F Spit and NIK I think....Landed 3 kills on the carrier with No motyor left and got lots of good things from the guys fighting said to me. Simple lil things like 's and well dones even when you get shot down...can make a not so good fight better. :aok

Long ago & far away, in another galaxy..........

Ripsnort, caveman & I went on a GV road trip. Rip had staked out a really cool ambush point and wanted to test it.

This was back in the dawn times, like 1.04 or something. GV's were still new.

So away we went, driving across hills, & vales for 20 minutes. Finally arrive at the top of this steep cliff, look down see a Vh just stop smoking..

Well I screwed up trying to set my position & down the hill I went. Stopping at last 30 feet from the VH.

VH repawns, and hordes of bish tanks start rolling.

Aim at the mass of tanks in the hanger & fire as fast as the loader could set em up.  Everyone in the hanger can see me, is trying to get lined up on me, but cave & rip are up on the hill nailing em hard & heavy. (As I am myself) VH is just a big ball of exploding shells & tanks.

I think caveman landed 36 kills that night. They finally got me with something like 20, rip was up there also.

Was like a half hours hard driving for 5 minutes of totally awesome destruction.

Wish I had it on film.

Let the furball continue!

A couple of  memorable moments.  Flying a P51, I went to investigate a couple of contacts near a base. They had disappeared by the time I get there.  On the way back I ran into four or five bogies, a mix of P51's and FW190's.  I was as good as dead but I twisted and turned for five minutes and no one laid a bead on me. Getting low I thought I'd get away but mushed straight in out ideas and energy in a last desperate evasive dive.  It was an intense few minutes. I sweated gallons. One of my attackers complimented me on my flying. Frankly I deserved it

Another was less intense but somehow captured the essence of what it was to be real fighter pilot in WW2.

It was fairly quiet at the field on one of the island bases.  Across the straits there seemed to be a raid building.  I took up a spitfire IX and began a climbing orbit over the base. There were a few friendlies milling about but I left them behind and headed for a large cloud overhead.
I was enjoying the pleasure of flying a virtual spitfire. Sometimes the experience can be be very compelling and reminds me very much of real flying.
As soon as I got above the cloud, I circled just above keeping an eye out for any bogies. I knew that I could bounce anyone who tried to attack the base.  Suddenly I caught a glimpse of something in the cloud below and immediately turned towards it.
No sign at first then I saw it again. It was an Fw190. I broke into him but he dived back into the cloud. There began a nervewracking cat and mouse game for a few minutes as we sought  each other in the thick cloud. Once we came so close I heard his engine as he passed over the top.

Neither of us fired shot.  We barely saw each other. Eventually we descended out of the cloud and I saw him just below. He saw me, rolled on his back and dived away.  I pursued him but he headed towards his base and I let him go. As I landed I reflected that this little incident resembled many descriptions in books I've read of inconclusive fights between fighter pilots during the war.

A very satifying sortie despite not even getting a shot off.

I was once bounced by 2 109's with pretty experienced pilots in it. I was ofcourse in my p38.

I killed em both.

this happened once to 5 bouncers but didn't have that magic like 2 wingin wabbles.

Taking off from another airfield in a NIKI to prevent the capture of friendly base by 3 Goon attempts.

The guys protecting the goon wouldn't notice my low NIKI and I'd come up and blast a wing off of the goon and he'd dive into the water.

Granted, not exciting, but it was great because I felt important to prevent the capture.

Then my ADD kicked in and I played with a rubber ball.

Shooting down a certain egomaniac in a 1 on 1 with no other interference, seeing that person bark their expected excuse on channel 1 and quickly log. It was good laugh.

Looong time a go I was in Spit9 when higher La7, Spit9 and 190 dive to me.

I make very low level run to the friendly flak but guy was totally out of sitution.

Three enemys get fast closer allmost side by side. Distance was about 800, so I make out of plane Immelman & split-S to get them to over shoot.

All three cons auger to the sea less than 1 sec :)

Coming out on the wrong(well right most fun) side of a 5-1, of which 2 of the 5 were  good sticks in yaks. vs my poor P38. and landing the 5 kills.

Anytime myself and my squadmate 50cals (RC from AWFR of The Mighty Fluff) wing up. We usually out-think, out-fly and out-shoot the enemy, and always have alot of fun.
