RAFALE M is a nice looking bird and alot more aircraft for carrier operations but it just doesn't have the "class" of the old F-8 CRUSADER's. Got to be my favorite carrier jet.

Too bad about the Mirage 2000's - read somewhere they are getting kind of "Long in the Tooth" and need replaced.

They implied like the French had "at least 2" CVs, we can barely put one afloat:D

On a side note, anything to protect the event is good. even with all that, i'm sure terrorists can find a way, if they really want to.

Hey now, I love to tease the French, but I hardly think this is the thread for it. Hijacking is one thing, but on the 60th anniversary of D-Day, it would be nice, and appropriate to instead just agree that for once we should ignore the chain yanking and remember the fallen.

The French are showing respect and maybe even gratitude for the young men who came so far from their homes to fight for freedom and gave their lives.

I thank the French for this.

I read an article that said the French were "rolling out rhe red carpet" for D-Day veterans. Seems some still remember.

I wish I could tell you a story about the VA sec. and Air France last week. Would change you mind about the "red carpet." French Diplomacy at it's best.
