Won't happen...Besides..Canada has enuff people. Probably 50% of the eligable male population would be leaving the US to invade them for a nice safe quiet place to lay low.

Why draft a bunch of weenies that don't want to be there for ANY reason anyway. All they'll be is trouble and probably get some killed that wanted to be there. Americas Youth IMHO for the most part couldn't fight a cold. Much less someone trying to kill em. Youth of today don't have the same moral values as the youth of yester year.

Barring a full scale World War...No politician has the nuts to bring it back either. So it's all IMHO again...a mute point.

Volunteer Military is best way to go...Mainly because if they Volunteer..they have no room to gripe. Again only MY OPINION.:(

P.S.  I think we should have one BTW. But I'm in a very very small minority.

Here's an interesting question: since women are now considered the equal of men in all military roles if there is a draft will women be included?

they aren't require to register, so if they aren't registered the chance of them being selected is slim

I don't believe you can have one without the other.

Is that a valid out? Or just urban myth?

And just out of curiousity. what reasons are there for rejection from the military these days?
Not concerned for me as I would proudly go in a New York Minute. But for my son who is far more the brainiac then the physical type and doesnt strike me as the type that you just know would walk away without a scratch If he were a footsoldier.
But he is the only boy and last male in my family other then me.

I was thinking if it came to it the airforce. but now I hear thats not a viable option. Second choice would be the navy.

Hmmm sounds like grounds for a lengthy legal battle to me.

RedTop, while i agree that youth in general are alot less respectful, there are still a great many who are respectful and could fight more than a cold, alot of them are doing it rightnow in iraq and Afghanistan.

Id bet there are more willing and able to fight then there are not.

Still agree with you, it amazes me how some of them act etc. Some really make me wonder.
